Histórias Brasileiras: MASP
A recording of the 200th anniversary of the Independence of Brazil and the 100th anniversary of the Week of Modern Art, taking the visitor behind the scenes of art and the decolonization movement.
"Histórias Brasileiras" (Brazilian Stories) took place between August and October 2022 at the Museu de Arte de São Paulo Chateaubriand (MASP) in a recording of the 200th anniversary of the Independence of Brazil and the 100th anniversary of the Week of Modern Art, taking the visitor behind the scenes of art and the decolonization movement and generating connections between contemporary man and his ancestry, mixing science, popular knowledge, reflection on native and Afro peoples, recalling social and political struggles faced by Brazilians over time.
The exhibition is curated by Adriano Pedrosa, artistic director, MASP, and Lilia M.
