A Poética do Fazer: Moda e Arte no MAB: MAB - FAAP
The exhibition "A Poética do Fazer: Moda e Arte no MAB" (The Poetics of Creation) presents 120 pieces from the museum's collection to the visitors, including creations by Brazilian fashion designers and visual artists, with the aim of making them reflect on the relationship between art, fashion, and poetic creation.
Curated by Denise Pollini and Laura Rodríguez, the exhibition is divided into six sections: Entremear (Interweave), Justapor (Juxtapose), Arquiteturar (Architecturate), Vazar (Leak), Estampar (Print), and Performar (Perform), all of which revolve around actions related to manual craftsmanship, using textiles.
"The museum's fashion collection began in 2016, and today we already have over 320 pieces by contemporary Brazilian designers. Given this, we decided it was time to share a part of this collection that has been cataloged, stored, and preserved for future generations," explains Laura Rodríguez.
"We want to establish a dialogue between art and fashion, pushing the boundaries of both. In addition to these pieces, we will also feature works from the Wearable Art movement of the 1980s, which treated clothing as art to provoke reflection on its boundaries," adds Denise Pollini.
With set design by Tito Ficarelli, the exhibition will be divided into six sections: Entremear, Justapor, Arquiteturar, Vazar, Estampar, and Performar, all centered around actions related to manual craftsmanship, using textiles. Panmela Castro participate with the video performance "Caminhar" (to walk).
